She was the only one I knew
Who loved me endlessly and true
Shining with a bright gold, gilded hue
And I loved her too
She was the morning, and each day I would see her was a return of such light from a place where darkness crept all around, thoughts drowned in deep black worry
Her dawn was dazzling, as shades of splendor spilled forth the more time allowed her to dance
Red like fire
Displaying all she had
Drawing skyline like scaffolding for beauty
Allowing brilliance to break into my ever colder heart
She was the truth
And expression was splattered along the walls of her room
All color and no cloud, no bush or cover to hide such holy wonder
She lay naked and asked me why I still held onto my clothes
The tempered bodies we had were meant to dwell together
fear strangled me
Yet
In her softness I felt more of a pull than any agressive thought might bring
I never knew what she saw in me
And each day we kissed I would ask why me, out of all the plenty and powerful others who would give up diamonds for a dance with her!
Why me?
She never answered
Just tenderly smiled as the fingers I grew to love wrapped around my cheek
Come closer
I want to bring your light to my cold world
And feel, once more, what its like to live
