I want to go somewhere new
somewhere free

I'm always locked away
kept inside
told to stay.
Why should I abide?
Why am I kept in a cage?
Hidden from sight
treated like garbage
I can't even see the light.
I'm drenched from the endless rain
shivering and cold
always in pain
just doing what I am told.
If I do what I want
stand my ground,
will you haunt
every time I turn around?
Can I break these chains
around my heart
that's so plain
before I'm torn apart?
Will I ever fly
from this endless night
into the sky
where it's warm and bright?
