In 2014 I quit my Archaeological role in central London and moved to Poitou Charentes in South West France to restore a Sorciere's cottage. I discovered a daily agenda a little like this:
Colours on the hillside
Doves on the wire
Early morning mating
Rhubarb in a tyre
(Le petit dejeuner)
Grapes on twisted vines
Cats in the hedge
Cheeses maturing
Bread cut as wedge
(Le dejeuner)
Peaches on trees
Chickens in coops
Bay leaves drying
For Provencal soup
(Gouter)
Sunflowers closing
Farmer brings the hay
Ice is removed
For Dubonnet
(Apertif)
Curtains are drawn
Madam provides fete
Family has gathered
Sun has set.
(Le Diner)
