Empty and Full

Two Opposite Poems

A candlelight dinner with none to share with

The conflict of your own identity

Never to touch the hand of serenity

Having news to share but none to tell

Losing all hopes and desires: a living shell

Like a lake with no water

Like a forest with no animals

The feeling in your heart a gaping hole

All hope lost, never to be found

Emptiness engulfs your entire being whole

Beaten, brutally beaten to the cold ground

Like a maze with no exit—true horror story alive

No worse feeling ever to be felt

No life to live: simply survive.

A perfect dinner with all loved ones

No cursed conflict to be found

within self or anywhere around

Always bliss is having a listening ear

All hopes kept and none to disappear

A rich lake with waves of blue

A free forest green and lush

The feeling in your heart a full cloud

Only hope to be seen, felicity abound

A bright light pulling you in so loud

Clouds of hope around you are wound

Like a perfect song you know by heart

No better feeling ever to be felt

Never at the end: always at the start.

About the Creator

Erika Marie

I've loved writing ever since I was a small child. I write fiction and more recently, non-fiction. I want to create change through my writing. If I can positively affect even one person, that would be incredible.
