Empty

Mental Health Poem

Do you ever feel so empty,

That you feel as if your stomach could cave in at any moment?

So empty that if you don’t eat you’ll die,

But feeling too sick and repulsed by your own shame and self-hatred,

That you can do nothing but sit and stare at your full plate.

Do you ever feel so empty,

That you can hear all the mocking laughs of your inner demons,

Bouncing off the walls of your fragile frame?

So empty that you know any step you take could fool you,

And throw you to the ground,

Teasing you with your own unpredictable life,

And your own feeling of emptiness.
