If one could be the beam of light
That guides us through the darkened waters
Or the diamond buried in the rock
Shinning through the dark grey matter
If one could be the blossoming flower
Sprouting among death of the others
Or the raindrop sliding from the leaves
Still standing out in surrounding water
If one could carry the luck of a thousand clovers
Only to never see their true power
Or have the elegance and the grace
Of the wind that carries the trees
If one could stand above the clouds
Just to dream of something further
Or could be the thought of reason
And the calm purity of truth
If one could be all these things
Maybe then, would I be good enough for you?
In a world of black and white,
Shattered dreams laying on the sidewalk,
Beautiful arrays of flashing red lights,
Kites of litter sore through the skies
Where,
Smoke dances over even the tallest trees
Muggy fog delicately hovers above
Nothing is as pure and clean as disease
And the tender touch of paper is mistaken for love
Even in this world,
Colorful flora blooms through the shadows
Of the forest with its many shades of green
Only living by today and tomorrows
For nothing but everything in between
