...hold on to me...

I was greener in those early days

But you set my soul on fire

Your touch ravaged my existence

With so much more than your desire

I cannot think about a future

Where you and I divide

I'll keep you close

Close to my heart

Close, my love, close by my side

The passion that burns in the core of me

Melts the ice in your stony heart

And sometimes, I get to thinking

That the only way to live with you

Is to tear this love apart

I warned you from the outset

Of this wild and crazy show

That our time will run out, like a raging river

Unless we stop the flow

When we look forward at the balance of things

The yin and the yang

There can be no day without the darkest night

It’s all part of nature's plan

And even now, as I run my fingers through your burning sands

And I watch it trickle through my calloused hands

This last kiss might be the final touch

Might be the last chance we have to take that final stand

So hold on to me...
