Echoing deeps, blue around me,
The songs of the cave surround.
Water at my feet, dripping in the dark,
Reflecting the glowing sparks.
Whispers and sighs,
Why open my eyes? When all I need do is reach?
Ever before me, ever before me,
My dreams will not cease.
Whether above in the air or below in the water,
Home, here I am,
The songs and the hums thrumming through bone,
Alone, here I stand,
The water, its whispers, the cave its songs,
Calling me below the surface,
And to drift, to drift, in contentment so deep,
I just may choose to sleep.
The calm, the serene, the deep is frightening,
To those not prepared to face it,
But to come home and sink,
To drift and think,
Is perfection to those who embrace it.
For home is home,
Bliss it should bring,
Why would it be cause for nightmares?
So strange to imagine
Some might see contagion
When exploring the shadows and dark.
Do they not see the sparks?
Perhaps you can explain where I don’t see,
Why it may and could be,
Why someone would fear their own mind?
For it’s something I can’t find
Below the water in the deeps of the cave.
Why would I ever need to be brave?
I am home in the dark and the deep,
The cave’s song surrounds me
And I can sleep.
