Dust

A Poem

Dust.

It takes so long to build an empire.

To spark a fire in the wind.

But It's a fools gamble...

To believe in more than a friend.

Trust is earned in time...

Slowly it starts to rust...

Suddenly before you know...

It blows away in winds of Dust.

Blind faith in others...

Clouds a sky of Grey.

Storms crash as fierce Thunder...

And Lightening reveals the way.

Beneath the fear of Darkness.

Lives a world of truth so right.

Where it's safe to believe in...

The one you're with tonight.

Hold on to the truth inside you.

Don't ever be weak enough to wear a mask.

For this life is over too quickly.

These days pass so damn fast.

I see nothing but masquerade around me...

I question so many lives.

As to why so many bother...

To live and breathe endless lies.

Is it too much to remain real ?

To be the one you claimed to be at the start.

Is there such thing as a happy ending...

For a honest caring heart ?

I would rather be alone forever...

With the soul I can trust.

Than believe in another...

Only to watch them vanish into Dust.

Dust.
