Drugs and Yellow Sunflowers
Scripted disappointments and powder.
Scripted disappointments and powder
Unreal elations in a skunky smoke
The beginnings of a murder I wrote
To silence an inner child
Who never had a chance to roam wild
Dreams to be free like the sea
Got me drowning in ecstasy
Losing sight of where the water begins and the dream ends
Running round in circles, seeing how far I can bend
Festering wounds that don't mend
For a life I don't know how to extend.
A sliver of light slips through the windows
Sunflowers that kept me going with their yellows
Convinced me to crack the seal
Open up to something real
Freshness creeping to my lungs
Maybe I wasn't really done
Maybe I got tired for a time
But that's okay I found the shine
