Drowning

Life with an Alcoholic

I’m drowning

Drowning in tears

Drowning in fears

Fears of losing my best friend

Losing my partner in life

In a world of Fireball

Fireball they yell

Shots shots shots shots shots shots shots

Shots to my heart every time you come home

Shots every time I’m left at home alone

Left for a bottle of booze

A battle I fight hard to fight, but always lose

Venom spewing from your lips

Words that sting like a knife

Is this my life?

Space

So much space between us

A connection I try to connect, time and time again

I don’t recognize my best friend

Depression has now become a regular

I ask do you love me

You say I love my booze

I realize this one battle I will lose

heartbreak
