Dreamer's Dream

I dreamt a dream beyond all dreams.

The greatest ever so it seems.

A beautiful girl took the void from my heart.

This is how the dream did start.

She took my hand and pulled me tight.

If just for a moment the world felt right.

She guided me through a starry sky.

Only asking for love I try.

She smiled at me and my heart flew.

Endless things I would do for you.

She gave me wings to fly above.

She showed the meaning of one true love.

She held my hands as we walked in flowers.

She kept me warm in the rainy showers.

We danced the night 'til stars did fade.

At night's end with me she stayed.

She said I was hers and she would be mine.

Together forever we would always be fine.

One kiss was enough and my heart to beat fast.

How could I know it would be my last.

I closed my eyes for now I could see.

All the happiness she brought to me.

I opened my eyes and began to cry.

Is it a sin to want to die.

I awoke in my bed and saw her not there.

A dream it was, one my heart couldn't bear.

Alone forever it now seems.

For this is what happens when a Dreamer Dreams.
