I’m left alone
With the clouds parted for the moonlight to pour in
As if the milky way has filled my glass
the deafening silence like a metronome in my brain
suffocating underneath the warmth of blankets
searching for the soothing surrender of my consciousness to be lost in slumber
Covering my eyes until foggy circles appear
And converge themselves into colorful pictures
youth, gain, future, resentment
I reach to grasp the intangible
Snakes are wrapped to keep my arms still
I lay there until my bones are sore
And I wake up in the morning
Awaiting when I can leave the land without dreams
