Dream... My Soul

A Poem

Dream, my soul parched of light,

Say not unto me a frivolous plight,

The silent night with cursed tongue,

Slays my dreams with one thrust.

Oh, bitter tongue,

Speaks plagues unto the heart,

Dancing demons to blind the soul,

Darkness, black as pitch,

Descends to cloud the mind

from ethereal thoughts

of the flesh divine.

How pure is my soul,

Quenched by eternal light,

Shards of radiant beams,

Cut out the vengeful tongue,

For my heart is full of love,

That paramount the demons,

And truth spoken through innocent lips,

Written by my time worn hands,

Will purge the blackness,

Smite the demons

that poison virtuous love.

Dream, my soul drenched in light,

Say unto me a lover's delight,

The silent night with breaths upon lips

Slays the nightmare apocalypse.
