Doppelgänger in My Dreams

Dry your eyes and stop your tears, you will smile again.

Forever crying, red eyes combined with a blotchy face

Falling deep into slumber unsure if I will ever wake

Off to never-never land

I encounter my twin

The mirror image of myself

My doppelgänger, my spirit from within

She gazes at me a twinkle in her eye

A full moon shines in the twilight sky

She beams brightly in the moonlight

Her eyes sparkle

Her complexion radiant and bright

She takes me by the hand leading to a glowing gate

No turning back now

Its all much too late

I am not frightened anymore

I have come to accept this is my only fate

My spirit continues to guide me, its my only escape

I smile joyfully, I am incandescent

Hand in hand we run through the tunnel of time

Memories flashing vividly upon the walls that surround

We finally arrive at the revolving door of light

Exiting a cruel world full of hate and pain

Goodbye now, maybe one day we will all reunite
