Don't Tell Me Not to Feel
My Unrequited Love

Don't tell me not to feel
Every day is a day of suppression
Suppression of feelings that won't heal.
Everything I own has a memory
Every song that we called ours
You tell me to forget
All the memories in towers.
When you love someone
As deeply and pure as so
Do you throw out
The greatest love you've known?
Or do you fight the odds
No matter how you look
For a love felt so profound
Abashed and harshly mistook?
Don't tell me not to feel
It's all I have left
If I choose to forget
I lose myself to a love bereft.
