Don't Quit

Just don't quit.

I know you've been hurt by someone else. I can tell by the way you carry yourself.

If you let me, here's what I'll do:

Simply take care of you. Somewhere, somehow, someway.

I wish it would be the day that he'd look at your face and whisper those three words to have you stay. And you know it seems so damn easy when he's not around. You forget his smile, you forget his sound. But then you see his face again. His eyes remind you, you're just friends.

As you sit in silence, wondering why. You'll wish you had his shoulder to lean on while you cry. You'll wish he was around to wipe all of those tears dry.

When you've been hurt and you can't even believe what they've done. When you need someone to talk to, you wish he could be the one.

In your mind you don't understand, you can't even lend yourself a helping hand.

When things go wrong as they sometimes will, when you're trudging a mountain that only goes uphill. When funds are low and debts are high, when life is pressing you down a bit... don't quit.

Rest if you must, but don't quit. He's just a boy, so don't give him it. Don't give up when the pace seems slow, you just need to brighten your glow. Success is failure turned inside out be the silver tint in clouds of doubt. You can never tell how close you are, it may be near when it seems so far.

So stick to the fight, when you've had you're hardest hit. It's when things seem the worst that you must not quit.
