Don't Drown

Save yourself...

Have you ever just tried to mutilate your thoughts?

Bash down down the guilt you have always fought?

Carve up the reasons that opened the actions?

Burn the sickness, cauterize the traction?

They knaw and kick, the demons want out...

So that's why they're restless, they know what's about.

Then sin, turmoil, guilt, and rage

Slowly etching in another solemn page.

A page to the story, never to be told.

A story never published only wanting to be sold.

The twists and turns that have to be made;

The bricks to the path have been cemented and laid.

Spiraling down, deeper...deeper,

The flames arise, becoming your keeper.

So now that the ashes have blurred the lines,

It only becomes harder to spot the signs.

When to stop, when to go;

When to hold in, when to blow.

The wave of purity, ride it hard,

Until the time comes to draw another card.

Or hide amongst the shadows of the night,

And blend yourself by dimming your light.

Cover up the useless flaws,

And embrace the strength of your lifeless claws.

Rid your demons or conceal their whim,

Or in the darkest ocean, you'll swim.
