There’s this distance
I can’t see it but I feel it
It lingers in the air as we communicate
As we negotiate just how we can be
The further this elastic band stretches
It will eventually break
The distance has created a big gap
I’m not sure how to refrain
From the feelings that get bottled up and thrown into the sea
A message in a bottle that I hope you get to read
Because everything seems so blurry
The focus isn’t focused
I’m clicking your face continuously but it’s hopeless
Distance between words
Distance between hands
Distance between eyes
What colour are mine?
My head is thick so thoughts remain stuck
Away from your face, can we crack this ice?
This shield that has layered both of us twice
Only takes one hit to make a crack
Is this distance too far to even do that?
