Disney Fairy Tales
A reverse poem showing two takes on Disney fairy tales. *A reverse poem is read like a regular poem, except you also read it back up from the last line to the first.*
Is all that we see or seem a dream within a dream?
I had dream that I married the only love of my life.
Dreams do come true.
Even though dreams are mere figments of the imagination,
I firmly believe that
Disney fairy tales are deceiving and disappointing.
Don’t believe that
Prince Florian honestly loved Snow White.
Prince Florian was a complete creep;
It’s not true that
Prince Charming fell in love with the real Cinderella.
Prince Charming only fell in love with Cinderella’s beauty;
It’s a lie to say that
Prince Phillip was Aurora’s true love’s kiss.
Prince Phillip didn’t have a clue about true love;
You would be a fool to believe that
Prince Eric recognized Ariel as the woman he fell in love with.
Prince Eric only loved Ariel’s angelic singing voice;
I’m not convinced that
Happy endings exist in real life.
The truth of it all is that
Disney fairy tales are a façade.
Do not believe, for one second, that
True love exists in Disney fairy tales.
It is my firm belief that
The love in Disney fairy tales is fake.
You cannot convince me that
The love in Disney fairy tales exists in real life.
My views of true love in Disney fairy tales will never change.
My parents loved each other.
Once upon a time,
My Mom and Dad fell in love.
The reality is that
My Dad fell out of love.
The truth is:
My parents’ divorce was a good thing.
