Discover Yourself

A Poem

I went out walking yesterday...

Came across some children...

I watched them as they played.

It took me back to when I was young.

Back to innocence...

Before real life begun.

As I walked the streets, on into the fields…

I felt the wind on my face like never before.

I starred at the sky, my breath was taken.

Suddenly again in my life I was sure.

I was sure of my mind...

My soul and my heart.

It was all so clear again.

As the sun hit my face...

Bursting through the clouds.

It seemed I felt the last of the rain.

Be at peace with your mind...

Let go of the hurt.

For You can Discover Yourself...

When you stop the search.

Remember the Innocence...

Still lives within your life.

Lose the struggle within...

For your youth never dies.

With my new found peace...

I walked the graveyard…

Of which I’d avoided all my days.

I felt a burning inside...

I no longer wanted to hide…

As I entered the Dead mans maze.

I read the tombstones, Of those who’d past…

It brought a tear to my eye.

For I felt a guilt of wasting my days…

Wasting my days of living my life.

Be at peace with your mind...

Let go of the hurt.

For You can Discover Yourself...

When you stop the search.

Remember the Innocence...

Still lives within your life.

Lose the struggle within...

For your youth never dies.

It can be hard to walk like a man...

When you were a boy just yesterday.

As it can be hard to find the words...

When the feelings get in the way.

Here in my epiphany...

There is one thing that’s clear today...

As old as this body decides to age...

My soul will not decay.

Be at peace with your mind...

Let go of the hurt.

For You can Discover Yourself...

When you stop the search.

Remember the Innocence still lives within your life.

Lose the struggle within...

For your youth never dies.
