Witness I did a love affair
This jaded and apprehensive pair
Whose affectations were bathed in strife
A timid husband and his gaudy wife
With sniffling spawn and a two car garage
A wispy love built on mirage
Pilfered supply and ego caressed
And with close friends an evening blessed
By autonomy and lurid vision
Narratives cleansed by rhetorical revision
Their gestures calculated and nice
He in the kitchen, near the ice
Her in the living room, drink in hand
Social capital gained by their band
Of peers collected near and far
For whom they leave a door ajar
For quick entry into the life
Of this timid husband and his gaudy wife
