Die for You

A Poem

I would die for you.

Lay down in a hospital bed,

accept a disease,

and sign my life away

for you.

Dive down deep,

breathe oxygen into your lungs,

and drown myself

for you.

Jump in front of a bullet,

soaring towards your skin,

and bleed out

for you.

I would take the explosions,

the terrors, the nightmares,

take the bloody bandages

and fall into a desert

for you.

I would take the screaming,

the abuse, the neglect,

take the hate and bruises,

and a broken neck

for you.

I would take the guillotine,

the noose, take the sentence if I could chose,

I'd take every burden that ever broke your heart.

I would take the whip,

each staggering breath,

take the posion, any torture, any death.

I would take the hurt.

I would take the pain.

I would give you sunshine,

and take away the rain.

I would take every storm.

I would take every cry.

And for you,

I would not hesitate to die.

I would take your sorrow.

I would take your despair.

I would take your dread of tomorrow,

and show you someone cares.

I would take it all away.

I would whisper my goodbyes.

I would hope to finally see,

happiness in your eyes.

My beating heart would cease to beat.

My blood would cease to flow.

I'd put my life down before your own

to show you you're not alone.

You are full of worth.

You are treasured, loved.

And you have been since birth.

I would die for you

with no second thought.

I can't let you continue

thinking that you are not...

Someone who deserves to breathe,

someone who deserves to dance.

You deserve to be happy,

so just give me the chance,

And I will die for you.
