What Lies Beyond the Horizon

Riding across the desert sand, the horse's mouth foams white and nostrils flare harshly

Hot air suffocating his lungs, each step becoming more arduous than the last

The rider perspires, hot sweat rolling down his brow bone and trailing the bridge of his nose

His eyes are clouded with fatigue, the sand and air is swaying to the rhythm of his heartbeat

The blinding sun descends across the rolling dunes of the unforgiving desert, a fantastic medley of violet, blood red, and orange paints the sky

The array of colors transitions into a deep blue

Stars mockingly wink down on the horse and rider

Shimmering moonlight brushes the surface of the cooling sand

The edge is near

Darkness is their final destination
