Depressed Imagery

A Poem

a raincloud above my head

that doesn't ever let up

my body transformed into

an athlete's punching bag

two magnets in the soles of my feet

trying to force me to join them on the ground

an old friend outlining every flaw

i've ever confided in them

and throwing it in my face

my conscious writing

'you'll never amount to anything'

across the steam in my mirror

after those 3AM showers I take

trying to drown it all

wash my skin of all this

self-loathing

rinse my hair of all this

anxiety
