Red Sky at Night, Sailors Delight
He denied the words, “you saved me” but he did. He had always been my lighthouse on a dark sea. Showing me paths to take: options. Never giving me a choice to fail, just simply showing me the paths. Protecting me from the crashing waves. I’ve realized I was abandoned the light no longer shown for I needed to learn to sea alone. Now he’s the one at sea and I’m the lighthouse and I’m the one guiding him home.
Deployments can be so hard being separated from the one you love and trusting that they will come home leaves you staring out the window at the moon for countless hours of the night. Because wherever they are the moon is the only thing you both have in common.
