Death

It is strange to watch someone hear the news of a loved one gone from this world it’s strange to see.

Strange to hear. Death is such a horrible word and sight to see. The tears that fall on the skin as saying good bye.

Death shatters bones and breaks hearts and doesn’t even care to say thank you and goodbye before they leave. It takes everything and anything from you and makes you feel like the smallest person on this rock, To be reduced to nothingness.

Death is such a cruel word. Death is like flowers in a field before it catches fire. And burns before your eyes to build fear inside you and crawl underneath your skin like cockroaches under cardboard. To rip your very soul from your body and kiss you one last time before throwing you Overboard.

At the moments leading up to death are sweet and sorrowful to feel the dark creep upon you like nails on blackboard. It rips its way into your body and makes its home inside the darkest parts of your mind to live and create more loneliness, to make you feel broken and at the edge of a tall building looking down and think this is it. This is the moment this all ends all the pain and sorrow all the heartache and mistakes you’ve made in your life.

As you take that step in the moments before you hit the ground it’s peace. Then maybe there’s a white light and maybe there is just darkness in the end. But whatever it is I only hope it’s nothing like this.
