Oh, Hi there, I guess you can't see me

Because time has split us like two tenants in the same building

I am from the future, a different reality than the one you were living

Your struggles made me possible

Your stupidity made me learn

Your wisdom made me proud

Your foolishness made be yearn

You were stronger than you think

Even though there wasn't anyone to tell you this

You did a lot of things in secret

And Karma later came to collect its due fees

You struggled in silence with a smile all your cheek

I guess no one could see it, or even try to peek in it

Despite all this, you lived

Where others may have hung from an oak tree

Your back endured lots of stabs

I guess that was where I inherited all these scars

You struggled through teenage phase

Though to you it was like a camel hiding in a haystack

You once heard things you couldn't explain

Like "why could I hear voices?", trust me, you weren't insane

But your heart was as open as the gate of Camelot on Authur's return

You loved even though you earned none in return

I write to you, congratulating you for making me possible

Though I wished some changes could be made but that's impossible

I wished you guarded your heart more

But that could have made me unempathetic I guess

Dear Past, thanks you for all the pains you had to go through

Just for me to emerge and stand where I am today

Even though life got a little tougher over here

I look back at you and smile saying "At least I got here."
