Dear Old Me..

Dear old me,

You're only seventeen.

The only happiness you seek,

is when you take a puff of gang green.

If you only knew better,

You would've recalled tomorrow,

Nope but instead, you chose to drink away your sorrows.

Bet you wish you would've listened,

Instead of saying, "Stop bitchin'!"

Than you wouldnt've needed help,

or to be given a prescription.

Because that made it better,

We were headed for stormy weather,

But you just said, "Whatever!" and a, "They won't stop me ever!"

Flash forward to trips to the office,

A smug look, and a smile saying, "I got this."

Now I've got the chance to recap,

Man, I wish I could take it all back.

But I can't it's all said and done,

prom, pep rallies, hell all the fun,

and yet for yourself it's just begun.

This is how the west was won.

Dear, Hey you're nineteen!

you're trying to stay clean,

trying to paint a new face,

in which with you they'll want to be seen.

But can't you just stop?

Even for just a minute,

Say, "I'm still alive,"

applaud, exclaim, "I did it!"

But you can't look in the mirror,

you can't face your reflection,

you at seventeen, are still serving your detention.

But you need to let it go,

Tell yourself you're not alone,

Tell yourself you got someone, who with you wants to build a home.

See it really isn't that bad,

The best is yet to still be had,

You should count yourself blessed,

You still got a mom, and a dad man,

So wake up tomorrow,

and put on a smile,

I know, I know it won't be easy,

as it truly has been awhile.

He sees something in you,

and those surrounded you do too,

Nobody on this Earth's surface is perfect,

they just relate to what you've been through.
