Nan, Granddad and Dazla

I've recently started uploading regularly to my YouTube Channel. By regularly, I mean once a month as I am working 30 hours a week in a sweet shop. I made this last summer for my Nan's birthday but put off posting it so it was easier to post monthly. The words of the poem are below if you are interested. Not the best drawer as you can see from the grid. However, I decided the best place to start my channel would be to make videos showing my gratitude to all the people that have helped me become me as they are also most likely to watch my videos at the start of this journey. Speaking of journey's, I will start off by experimenting with this channel with what I prefer to make so, I may end up writing poems of appreciation and then just give them to people if I feel that this may be more of an animation channel by the end of trying out lots of things. We shall see and I hope you enjoy. If you look at the channel this video is on you will find some of my university and A-level projects already there. I would be grateful for any comments, likes or shares.

My Nanna was evacuated in what was supposed to be last war of the world,

when she was a little girl

Many years ago, To Banbury,

to be exact 70,

Happy birthday, nanna!!!

I've loved you living in the granny annex next to the sweet manner!

Today she is turning 80,

and her name is Betty.

I don’t know how you raised four troublesome boys.

They must have made a lot of noise.

My three uncles and my dad.

I've heard stories of them being really bad,

But you did have grumpy gramps their father.

Victor worked as a plumber.

Thank you for taking me to playgroup.

Every day it felt like we were stuck in a loop.

Whenever we got to corner of our road we would say “nearly there.”

Yes, I remember, that’s how much I care.

You have always been so patient and calm with me.

Especially when I've been clumsy.

I remember once when I was young I dropped my dinner on the floor,

and I was so scared you would angrily roar.

But you sweetly said your dogs would eat it.

Beauty and Lady were like a cleaning kit!

I also remember me and my dad teasing you about the speed you walk.

You know your nickname speedy was just talk

because you are a cyborg on one side of your body because of all the bone replacements!

I wish I had stopped those dogs without leads who caused your knee displacement.

You have been always been so wise.

As once you made me realise.

Love is like evolution.

It is not a solution

because it changes life as you know it

One massive bit.

You are so great a cross stitch and sowing.

Your big, hearty meals mean you are also good at cooking.

I loved the cardigans, ponchos, and hats you made me

and the lovely cross stitch rose at the back of my pocket-sized mirror especially.

I love how you are a dog person.

And doing crosswords with you has always been fun.

Look how cute you all are in the photo with the dog Dazla.

To more years to come, where you can carry on being the best Nanna!!
