Dear Mother

Oh, How I Miss You

Dear Mother,

I sit here in deep thought wanting to hug you and just see you again

A beautiful soul that everywhere you went you left an everlasting impression

So, I close my eyes and begin to count slowly from one to ten

However, I reminisce the days when we both would smile and take a walk down the road

You had such an enormous heart and you loved all your children no matter our faults

I never imagined the day that you would not grow old

A victim of Domestic Violence he took your life

The days and nights seem so cold from what was left untold

Although, taken away by a cowardly act of self-less love

My actions... my thoughts... Come from you

As a mother to her infant and a bird to its dove

I want to tell you that you are my inspiration and that is why I go so hard

Time is what I lost when you went away that day

I sometimes go back home to visit the yard

Memories are what I hold dear to me with all my might

I want to make you proud you are watching over me

I promise…Not to have a man who wants to fight

I had a short time to get to know you

Yet I learned so multiple values from what you instilled in me

Some days out of nowhere I my mood goes down…. Feeling blue

Then I see your picture that I keep in a frame

I see how my smile looks like your smile

Although, I know that you would love the woman I have became

I never give up... because you never gave up on me

You were taken from me in a sudden way

Yet I smile…. because I know that you were set free

I love you today…tomorrow… forever….

I see you in a different special way

No one can take that away….never
