Dear conservative family,
I may have different views than you, but that doesn’t mean that I am against you
No, you didn’t “raise me better than that”
No, you didn’t “lose your (grand) daughter”
No, you didn’t “fail as a (grand) parent”
My views are mine. You don’t have to support them because they are mine.
Just because I grew up in a hunting family, doesn’t mean I believe in all gun laws.
Just because I grew up in a traditional family where the men are the bread winner, doesn’t mean I believe men are the superior sex.
Just because I grew up around adults making conservative jokes, doesn’t mean I found them to be funny.
I thought for myself and decided on what I believed was right and wrong.
When I choose a card when playing Cards Against Humanity, it doesn’t mean “that’s the liberals choice.”
When I bring a friend over, it doesn’t mean they are a liberal ready to debate with you.
When I talk to you, I’m not always against you.
I’m not sorry your views didn’t rub off on me.
–Your liberal (grand) daughter
