Days Gone By

A Poem

Oh, if I could only try

To reclaim a moment in times gone by

Those childhood summers under the sun

No worries or responsibilities, only fun

Oh, if I could only try

To reclaim a moment in days gone by

Chatting in the hillside park at night

Offering a juvenile but welcome insight

Oh, if I could only try

To reclaim a moment in times gone by

Hitting the ballpark after class

Watching the riverboats slowly sail past

Oh, if I could only try

To reclaim a moment in days gone by

With so much yet for me to learn

The perfect experiences I could earn
