Daydreams

I'll wait here with my daydreams...

In the late, late hours of the night,

As I try to close my restless eyes,

Longing creeps up and with all my might,

I wish for him with deepening sighs.

He that will make me feel whole,

Whose heart will mine complete.

The man who will fill my mind and soul,

With joy when we finally do meet.

I've been told that good things take time,

That they get here as quick as they can,

To have faith in a master plan,

That he's just as ready as I am.

But my stomach aches and my heart yearns,

For the one who will fix and mend,

The broken pieces of a past that burns,

A man on whom I can finally depend.

So make your way to me, I plea,

I'll wait here with my daydreams.

I tremble for what real love can be,

If it's as bewitching as it seems.
