Darkness

She spent her life thinking it was the darkness that she feared.

She spent her life thinking it was the darkness that she feared, she would would run away from the shadows that slowly crept near.

She would surround herself with lights and hope the darkness wouldn’t come and every time one went out she would continue to run.

She spent her days in a panic fearing to lose another light so she would work herself to exhaustion to keep the candles from blowing out but slowly the light keepers left her then she realised her fear

It was not the dark she feared but instead being left there with her own candle burnt out.
