"Damn This Limb Bow"

A Poem

What would our forests look like,

if the trees found a reason to war with each other?

Two American flames trying to put out the other's fire,

because they're not ready to burn brighter next to one another.

Hollywood made death cute-sy

and now selfishness wants to purge the streets.

We failed to see the ugly in our own actions

and now we're seeing the beauty in the beast.

Color me truthful

and then let me be the mirror I am.

Just a reflection of the world around me,

trying to set myself apart anyway I can.

Impossible is a lie,

the physical will never overcome the spiritual.

I know they'd rather tell me not to believe,

then try to explain away a miracle.

Hope is a seed to buried by the hands of the clock in dirt,

may it always lay nearby waiting to be unearthed.
