Damage You Have Caused

Fathers

Drip,Drop,Drip,Drop

The roar of the thundershower, hiding my sobs so that my sleeping mother may not hear them.

Confused, Alone, and Unloved is what is going through my head taunting me from dusk till dawn

Because of you, I have changed.

No longer am I the naive little girl who believes in the best in everyone.

I know the truth, the ones you love hurt you the most

Drip,Drop,Drip,Drop

Therapy. Speaking to someone as they try to understand what's really going on

But they don't understand.

What it's like having you disappear from my life without saying a word.

I stay quiet never letting anyone know how badly you have hurt me.

Drip,Drop,Drip,Drop

Letters and empty promises,

Are all you are.

Raising the hope that maybe you might just care a little.

Drip,Drop,Drip,Drop

I'm letting you go.

I will move on.

And heal from the past.

I will forgive you but never will I forget the damage you have caused.
