Crumbling World

A Poem

The world around us could be burning,

But does anyone look around them anymore?

I see the flames and feel the heat,

It burns and it blinds but I am the only one that feels the inferno.

The world around us could be frozen,

But does anyone realize the catastrophes around them anymore?

I see the ice and I feel the frigid chill,

It freezes and it cracks but I am the only one that feels the ice.

The world around us is being blown to bits and pieces,

And radiation is in the air we breathe and that our children breathe.

I feel the sickness and cry at night,

It kills and it sickens and I am the only one that realizes this epidemic.

The world around us is crumbling away from beneath our feet,

And only a handful of people can look through the blinding haze that shelters the population.

We see the disasters and we feel the difference in the atmosphere.

Help us heal the earth and save the planet from humanity-caused destruction.
