Crappy Girlfriend

For the pain.

She’s a little annoying.

She’s there when I’m in the middle of talking to friends.

She’s there when I’m eating breakfast.

She’s the crappy girlfriend that sticks around after 3 years and you’re too afraid to break off with.

She’s the girl that texts me “good night” at 3am

Then makes me wake up at 6:30am to start walking 42 minutes to school

Because I was so busy staying up all night trying to get her to go home,

wherever her home is.

She crashes at my house and tells me not to eat when she’s there.

She makes me focus on nothing when we watch TV.

She hides behind my back when someone approaches me.

I could just talk to some idiot for two hours about how much she sucks,

take some prescription drugs to pretend she doesn’t exist,

but it doesn’t really change too much.

Her last name, Depression, first, Chronic.

She lives in a big expensive house that’s mostly empty.

She’s related to Melancholy and Social Isolation,

her pet is a dog named drug abuse.

Drug abuse is fun to play with and to pet,

but he’s a bit violent, so he bites back--hard.

She’s a parasite stuck to my back and sucks away anything that I find enjoyable.

She nags at me every morning.

She’s the six-shot revolver that I load a bullet into and play Russian roulette with.

So until I paint the wall or dump her,

I’m just kinda stuck with her,

and I’m okay with that.
