Coral, I want to tell you that it gets better,
But sometimes it doesn't
That depression hits harder than those cursed angels fell to Earth
But we are the strong ones
And we will put up a fight
Coral, I want to tell you not to give up yet
Because we are all sad and dying
And we are just the ones who hurt the most
You are doing your best and that's what matters
Don't listen to the villain in your head who tells you otherwise
The devil plays his best tricks on the strong to make them feel weak
Coral, you can be whomever you want to be
The scars on your arms cannot hold you back from your dreams
Your nightmares are there to put on display your deepest insecurities,
But don't take them to heart
Coral, we all go through this
Rain will fall
And sun will shine
Lightning will strike
And thunder will crack
The fire in your eyes will burn
And the sympathetic smiles given to us in pity will be ignored
You aren't the joke that the voices make you out to be
You are the sun
And sometimes we are all hidden behind clouds
I know your depression isn't for attention
But this is
So listen to us
Because we are the ones who are never heard
We will no longer take your oppressive treatment
Because we are living kids who need more consistency than a new cut on the wrist every night
Don't waste my time telling me that I don't exist
Because I do and I have an army behind me to prove it
Coral, how they've hurt you is not your fault
And you will get hurt
But I will always help you back up to your feet
And if they won't help us
We will help ourselves
Because every sick kid needs treatment
Coral, you aren't alone
And in the end, we will raise our fists
Because we are the ones who survived.
