Contradiction

A Voice

I'm supposed to be spiritual

without saying His name.

I'm supposed to live free

without letting Him heal my shame.

I'm supposed to succeed

without asking Him the way.

I'm supposed to be a winner

and He’s not supposed to play.

I'm supposed to have views, convictions, and beliefs.

and I'm not supposed to acknowledge the common cunning thief.

I'm supposed to be whole

without the one who was first.

I'm supposed to love entirely,

without the being who gave me birth.

I'm supposed to know my purpose

without the Author of Life.

I'm supposed to have great character

while culture plays the adulterous wife.

__

Now here's something new.

Yeah, here goes part two.

__

I'm supposed to unapologetically share my views,

without the majority getting offended.

I'm supposed to have free expression,

and your response be open-ended.

Now the sad truth is,

Freedom isn’t free.

Your words may be validated,

but not by me.

In a society that says no voice should be silenced,

Your actions seem to lie as your words pour out in violence.
