Concept

Falling out of love is a sad concept.

It’s a sad concept, really.

Ending a relationship and choosing to remain “Friends”

At first the calls are frequent but still raw

The voice on the other side picks at the wound not yet healed and you can only hope that yours is doing the same.

You no longer end the call with “I love you,” but an “I’ll talk to you later”

Sometimes you slip up because the feeling doesn’t go away immediately

Because every time you hear that laugh, all you can think about is that stupid joke you told over dinner

That stupid one about water that became an inside joke for the evening

Soon the calls don't come as often

as long

as smooth

They feel forced

That’s when you know it’s finally happened

You’ve fallen out of love

It’s funny what falling out of love does to you

It’s like breaking up all over again

You realise that what you had is no longer there, but yet you seem to be the only one still desperate enough to hold on

heartbreak
