Cold Feet

it's that time of the year againwhen the clouds come and the birds leavethe trees become more diversely colored as the chlorophyll gives wayto the fiery oranges and yellows burning through the tops of the trees

the wind changes from a growl to a howl and the mercury drops lower and lower down the glass tubeit's fall, or as the fancy people sayautumn

Pack away the shorts and sandals and bring out the jackets and coatsscarves to wrap your exposed neckgloves to trap the heat in close to your fingersbut my feet will always stay cold

because I hate wearing socks
