Cluster of Thoughts Today

A Poem

We are given life but with a little guide,

One choice and decision that we have to decide,

From birth we open our eyes but do not see,

Words make no sense, and we cannot plea,

Our thoughts are fresh and without due care,

As we learn and grow, exploring the world with flare,

A fire burns inside us and will grow,

Knowledge we seek and everywhere to go,

As we get older and age with great precision,

We are expected to be responsible and make the right decision,

But often so we follow either emotion or sanity,

Which can go either as low as the earth or as high as a tree,

I lost the rhythm in my place of thought,

I don't know what this poem has sought,

Happiness, sadness or places of glee,

Just enjoy your Sunday and live to be free,

My poems are simple, a child could write,

But my heart is unique and twisted real tight,

Confusion, sadness and despair is my fuel,

Sometimes I need to feel like being kicked by a mule,

Life is filled with mystery, pain, love and lust,

But don't ever smother ones you trust,

Because one day they might turn you away,

Causing the one you care for, stumble and sway,

Because you tried to be there and hold her high,

But in truth you made her insides cry.
