Closed for the Night
"Curled up in a ball..."

Curled up in a ball
To close the space between
My body and the Universe,
Pull the sheets above my head,
To block out the Sun,
And let the light disperse.
Wait until the stars arrive,
Before I walk through rooms,
A passing ghost that is out of sight,
Listen to the silence of the walls,
And the stillness in the air,
It is calm when the World is closed for the night.
