How does Cinderella do it
Clean, clean, repeat and clean
Every day
Just circling away
Does she get tired
Do tears run from her eyes until they run dry
Does she ache until it feels like her bones are withering away
How does Cinderella do it
She cooks
She cleans
She takes care of every need
Does she have the time
To soak in the bath
To share a smile
Or even have a laugh
Does the exhaustion tear her down
Until she feels like she can't move
With every muscle burning
From scrubbing every square inch
Of every single thing
Making it shimmer and shine
How does Cinderella do it
With only fragments left in the day
To even have time for her
How does she sing
When she is worked to the bone
You know
I think she may be the strongest woman I know
Without getting bitter
But having hope
That one day things will be better
To dream of having a night for herself
Her wishes finally come true
But oh how she makes me wonder
