Christmas Snowflakes
The Magic of the Holidays
From sunset leaves to sparkling snowflakes
Winter's arrival another year,
From wind in the trees to the fog of our breathe from our lips,
Year after year all twenty two years,
Rainy blue skies of windy October to the
Cherry skies evenings in the still days November to the dreary gray clouds of the cold days of December
Flowers in the gardens covered in cotton from the trees turned into decorations filled with Christmas momentums of lit up candy canes to the star of Bethlehem,
After the yards been covered by fall leaves,
Turn into white covered lawns for snow angel making
The weather for long sleeves turns into the season for jackets with fur linings and grandma's hand knitted scarves,
The lifeless grass covered in fallen leaves turned into the sparkly blanket blissfully blinding to the eye,
Christmas Snowflakes awaiting Christmas Eve,
Counting down days on the calendar till the recent memories of pecon pies become Santas cookies,
The smell of pumpkin spice becomes apple cinnamon so sweet.
Carved out pumpkins at the end of October
To Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas lights and the rainbow of ornaments decorating the trees before Christmas week,
Family rushes and Christmas lists of wishes,
Trick or treats to the wrapping to the spirit of giving,
The magic of the Holidays from the fall to the winter,
Jumping in leaf piles arms wide open,
To sledding till our noses are cold with our cheeks rosey,
Gatherings to the fireplace with a warm cup of steaming hot cocoa,
The oranges and yellows of the trees to the reds and the greens of the holiday season
Thanksgiving beers to Christmas cheers to another good year
With family and friends, coworkers and all
Thanks to the maker above for another year of waking up to Christmas stockings and Santas gifts under the Christmas tree
The magic of the holidays that time of year
Everything leading up to Christmas carols only weeks after camping outside shops for Black Friday sales,
Before being snowed in on chilled winter snow days,
Christmas vacation the weeks of celebration,
Of gifting of giving, dancing and singing
All of the creators given blessings
The beauty of the season for ever changing before the New year's festives of left over Christmas ham and good wine
Memories made till a new year for a life time,
To never forget but to take with us into the new year and many more years to come.
Happy holiday season
