Chocolate leaves me
with a sweet residue in my mouth
comforting me from the inside out
enticing my senses
feeling in love
making me want more
causing a conflict of
need vs desire
an ongoing struggle
I can't make sense of
whilst at the same time
not wanting to
as I am so caught up
in all it's fleeting
triggers of euphoria
I know it's not good for me
but just like a drug
I can't get enough
making me want more
oh yes! kind of like you
except it’s always waiting there
in the same place
on the same shelf
when I want it
unlike you.
