Cherry Blossoms

A Spring Poem

By Katherine J. ZumpanoPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

spring arrives without warning;

suddenly the sun stays out till six

and rises before you in the morning,

the cherry blossoms bloom overnight

and each rain brings more flowers,

tulips, daffodils, lavender popping up

until the world is colorful again.

the birds sing, soaring among

the bees and butterflies hunting nectar,

your gloves and scarves are stored

in a drawer till next november.

spring appears seemingly all at once,

an abrupt beginning to

a graceful, giving season.
