Pacing, tracing, breathing in a single moment

Eyes following, throats swallowing, don't look up

Sitting cross-legged in the floor

Spilling moonlight, otherwise black

Face is blank forevermore

Lift your head, arch your back

Isolation breeds imagination

Imagination bleeds through the fog

If only for a moment

If only for a moment

To be left

Alone.

Each breath a rattling

Battle

Every thought

Displeasing

Time to stand, they won't listen

Please understand

It's of my own volition

These tired hands

Lift me up

Through the sands

It tears me up

To think.

Walking now, walking slowly

Hearing only screams below me

To join them is to spite the enemy

To join them is to breathe

If only for a moment

If only for a moment

I drop below, here's my chance.

I lift my head and begin the dance.

Heart vibrating

Rib-cage shattering

They quiet

If only for a moment

They quiet

I breathe in the moment

They quiet...

And still...

Above I feel the eyes

I sense the grimaces

Lichen covered spies

Saluted sentences

I stop.

I sit.

They scream.

They spit.

I drop

Further down

And stop

I wait to drown.
